D'Cinnamons

Lagu bernuansa semacam itu misalnya lagu-lagu bertajuk “Mayday”, “I’m in Love”, “So Would You Let Me Be”, “Ku Yakin Cinta” dan “Loving You” yang semuanya ada di album perdana mereka ini.

Perkenalan sesama personel pun cukup panjang.

Sejak SMA, Dodo (sang vokalis) memang sudah sering bawain lagu Zombie miliknya The Cranberries. (Someone from Bdg)

About D’Cinnamons
Proudly we introduce D’Cinnamons, a feminine unplugged-acoustic music concept. We’re “born” in Sept 2004, with lead vocal n rythm: Dodo, Lead guitar n vocal: Bona, Acoustic Bass n vocal : Laut. We choose acoustic guitar as our red line in produce music, so we only use acoustic guitar n bass instrument. Our music is pretty simple, if it’s genre has to be “cage” let’s call it pop. Just that simple. Our soulful n natural vocal makes it sound tasty. A simple harmonization by Bona and Laut make it sounds light n crunchy. We start our music carier by cafe-2-cafe “system”, where everyone came there to hear live music they want. Yes, the first gigs is always soooo hard, thanks to God who always keep us goin’, whatever happen on stage n back stage. We believe we’re still a “baby”, so let us grow n we’ll see what next can we do.
Our team: We never forget how hard our team performance work on stage, thankfully we have our best team ever. Pungky is our Stage Manager and Personal Manager, he always be a good Sound Engineer, this hardworking-man always put humors, support, n good advise when everything feels so bored. He can be our Trash Can too, (so sorry Punk, sometimes we’re just wanna bang u out.. hohoho). Our additional percussion player is Kang Heru, his touch perfectly colours our music on stage. We “found” him at… or he “found” us at Istana Plaza Foodcourt, where we perform regularly in 2005. We’re so lucky, cos at that time, D’Cinnamons really looking for percussion player, and he just “POP!” There he is.. one of our best team. He always accompanied with Firman, our cute, funniest person who always make our tour full of laugh. It’s really really nice, to work with them !

You can grab our debute album which has been released at 8th January 2007, at Aquarius music store! In this our first album, GOOD MORNING, we proudly introduce D’Cinnamons with a feminine acoustic unplugged concept. It consist of 10 songs, with our hits single LOVING YOU IT HURTS SOMETIME. In All song we produced, we choose acoustic guitar as the red line, so we use purely acoustic guitar and acoustic bass as the only instrument. For nuance in every single song, BONGKY BIP, our producer, add some string, percussion, and accordion. We’re amazed by his touch, every song become more alive!

Laut bio;
Louise Laura Lalitanaya, A.K.A LauT (born September 14, 1980) is the bassist player for D’Cinnamons, born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, and gain more life experience in Bandung, West Java since the year 2000 and went to university in Institut Teknologi Bandung. By majoring Graphic Design, she began to continue the creative way of thinking and life, which actually already been in her blood, likewise, her mother have the sense of art of a gigantic pine tree in the woods.
LauT played bass for the first time at a gig in one of her friends birthday party (1998), playing songs from Cake and Nirvana. Many time before that she starts to play music in a band with friends in her high school, SMU St. Ursula, as a guitarist, vocalist, drummer (ooo heck, just once) playing songs from The Corrs, U2, Oasis, and a lot more including local Indonesian bands. In 2001 LauT performed as a bassist player at “MakelArs”, Parahyangan University, Bandung. Since then, she continue to play bass in many band projects: YellowSkinned, Cora, Under Rock, Elastisah, NuPort, Irish Coffee, Dinner Killers, Rantai, and since 2004 till now with D’Cinnamons…
LauT is so eclectic, with multiple and varied stylistic influences, including Pop, Rock, Metal, jazz, Blues, and hip-hop/rap. For her, listening to music can be so entertaining yet so boring. At that moment, creating a song for herself can be so entertaining. First song she wrote is “U Know I Do”, dedicated for her someone special in 1996. Music is also an expression from a person, as well as building a character for the person. How good can a Bob Marley for being so mellow and romantic, how groovy Basia is, how powerfull can a Lennon be, that’s something about someone. Besides, Dave Matthews Band, Alanis Morissette, Lisa Loeb, Sade, Jack Johnson, The Beatles, George Michael, Bryan Adams, Craig David, Jamiroquai, Bjork, TuPac, Eric Clapton, Nathan East, Phil Collins, Sting, Sinatra, Live, Incubus, Slipknot, KoRn, Elastica, Kittie, OTEP, Soulfly, Sepultura, DevilDriver, RedHotChilliPeppers, Rage Against the Machine, even Agnes Monica and Inul Daratista can be such an influence for her. wRoCK oN!!!!

Dodo bio ;
“If you had a dream, just stick to it. & it’ll come true, if you don’t ever give up. Don’t let anybody ever tell you, that you can’t do that dream.” This phrase said by Mike Portnoy, Dream Theater’s drummer. I know it’s sounds so cliche, and maybe to early. But that’s what I’ll keep forever in my mind. D’Cinnamons is my first recording band. I met Bona at Aloysius junior high school. The first time I met him, I know that he’s the one. Haha. The one who can understand n support my vision in makin music.The one who wanna grow with me.
2 years swimming cafe-2-cafe makes me bored. I wanna learn to make my own song, I said. This first album is really my first songs, so I believe I have to learn much more to make better n better pieces.
I was born in 1983, at 16 March. My father is a doctor, my mother is an apothecary, so I was born in the world of medicine “department”. But they are really support me though. Thankyou Dad,Mom, for everything, everything, and everything. I know it’s hard to understand n match two different world perfectly, but you always love me, support, care of me, n protect me. I love, n keep my father doctrine of hardworking. He said it’s better to start something big from zero. Don’t let anybody let you down. I love you, Dad.
My favourite musician is Goo Goo Dolls, I love John style in his acoustic guitar. Dave Matthews Band, Dave’s vocal is so click with my ear. They are number one for me, vocally, and musically. Alanis Morisette have an electrical lyrics, her point of view amaze me, number one lyrics for me, number two is John Mayer.
I hear every music, I believe music is never ending journey. I’m an ordinary human, I need to learn and learn from every talented artist in this holy God universe, for introspect and develop myself.
Here’s another side of my life… it’s Pet. I love turtle, tortoise. They’re very cute. I love to keep them, cos their longlife, and they have “survival mode” when i forgot to feed them in a week… hoho… and of course cos someday I can give them to my son, and grandson. I think it’s really cool to receive a living creature heritage from my grandmother.hoho. There’s no favourite colour for me, cos every colour have their own expression. Well, that’s all from me, thanks guys!
Regards,
DODO

Bona bio ;
My music background started when I was a little boy. I joined a choir group when I was in kindergarten. And then, when I was 4th grade primary school, I once again join a choir group for Christmas Caroling at Sheraton Inn Bandung. At junior highschool, I joined a marching band called Top D&BC (Top Drum & Bugle Corps) as a trumpet player. Then I stopped my activity at the marching band when I was 2nd grade in senior highschool.
I start playing guitar when I was 3rd grade of junior highschool. Honestly, it was my sister who made me playing the guitar. I’m “obsessed” with my guitar because my sister can play the intro of Come As You Are (Nirvana). From that on, I start to playing guitar, and my 1st song to learn is When I Come Around by Green Day. After that, I start a band with my friends named D’Quarto Plus Band. I was a drummer for D’Quarto Plus. For a few years, I played drum and trumpet. Then I joined Lampoe Neon Band and played as a trumpetist, with my friend Dodo. We played a song of SaveFerris, Reel Big Fish, Etc. Then Lampoe Neon changed, and I play guitar. With new formation, we played Save Ferris, Cokelat, The Cranberries, etc. After we graduate, me and Dodo and a few friends decided to make an acoustic band, simplicity in concept. Then Hendy, our former vocalist named the band “Irish Coffee”. We played top 40s song acoustically. Then Irish Coffee changed to D’Cinnamons, still playing acoustic, with new formation: Dodo, Bona, Laut.
My Inspiration and my influence mostly from foreign artist. Such as John Mayer, Jack Johnson, King of Convenience, Al Di Meola, Carlos Santana, Etc.
